Tapes and Tape Brands
Whether you are wrapping a gift, sealing a carton for shipping, wrapping electrical wires, mounting or splicing, labeling, repairing, color coding, sealing pipes, painting or joining and sealing in the HVAC business, this is the place to find the right tape.  You can choose from well know brands such as 3M Scotch, IPG, Shurtape, Nashua, Tesa, Duck, Polyken, Highland, Tartan, Universal One, Xerox, Command, Markal, Berry Plastics, Champion Sports, Cosco, Chartpak, Caremail, General Supply, Cobra, and Blue Diamond.

Electrician and Plumber Tapes
When mechanical or electrical properties are involved you may need an electrical tape or cambric tape.  They are normally UL approved. Thread seal tape seals pipe threads and is used mainly by plumbers.  For plumbing applications it is usually white PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) single density film for NPT threads up to 3/8 inch.   There are other colors for larger threads for different industry applications.

Office, Arts and Craft Tape
Cellophane tape or transparent office tape comes on its own handheld dispenser or on a roll with a 1 inch core to fit on desktop dispenser.  Double-sided or double coated tapes typically come in various materials like foam, cloth, films, flatback and UPVC.  They are mainly used for mounting and splicing and some are used in the carpet and textile industries.  Mounting tape is a double sided tape used for hanging pictures and other items.  No need for nails and most are repositionable. Repairing a book may require binding / archive book repair tapeGraphic design tape is great for creating solid lines for lettering, charts and decorations.  Film labeling tape protects your labels and documents from liquids and debris and provides a writable/printable surface that is permanent, and waterproof.

Industrial tapes
Duct tapes range from light to heavy duty.  Duct tape (locally we call it EB Green) is used for color coding, securing, bundling and protecting.  The arts & entertainment industry (referred to as gaffers tape) uses it to hold wires, lighting and props.  Flame retardant polyethylene coated waterproof tapes conform easily to duct systems. Foil tape has heat tolerance and is flexible.  Ideal for temporary repairing of truck bodies, mufflers and as a duct wrap. Floor tape is made of tough vinyl and comes in different colors so you can mark off boundaries

Masking Tape
Masking tape can be a flatback or crepe style and comes in grades ranging from general purpose to industrial / contractor grades and also high temperature grades.  Masking tape is used in packaging, bundling, holding, splicing and even for decorating and arts & crafts (some come with colorful prints). Painter’s masking tapes like 3M’s ScotchBlue or Duck’s Frogtape blocks the paint (no bleed through) and gives you fine paint lines.  It is also easy to remove and leaves no residue.

Packaging Tape
Packaging tape for carton sealing is either hand or machine grade.  There are also grades for light duty, medium duty and heavy duty applications.  Poly box sealing tape either features a hot melt synthetic rubber adhesive, an acrylic adhesive, a natural rubber adhesive or a silicone adhesive.  They all have various properties that make it better for different applications and climate conditions.  Decorative tapes can be duct tape, masking tape or poly packaging tape.  Dress up your packaging with attractive colors ands prints. Preprinted packaging tape comes in different colors and prints.  Seal your boxes with attractive decorative prints and the dispenser it comes on is reusable.

Tape Dispensers
Brands like 3M Scotch, Duck, Universal, Tatco, Rolodex and General Supply provide tape dispensers in various styles, grades and colors.

Handheld pistol grip tape dispensers have a 3 in core and are designed for 2 or 3 inch poly box sealing tapes. If you want something more light weight try the compact handheld tape dispensers. For gummed tapes there are manual and electric gummed tape machines

Office and Arts & Craft Tape Dispensers
Adhesive transfer tape dispensers usually accommodate 1/2 and ¾ inch tapes up to 1296 inches in roll length. Personally Speaking
It is all about protecting and securing your valuable products.  Use the proper materials for your applications.  Read the manufacturer’s recommendations and guidelines.  The last thing you want is to damage your product and lose those profits.  I always say do it right the first time; saves a lot of time, aggravation and money.

Have a great day
